Copyediting
This is a detailed and comprehensive edit of your work. Some things I check in a copyedit include: spelling, punctuation, grammar, capitalization, hyphenation, jargon, biased language, flow, formatting, and consistency.
Awkward, wordy, or confusing sentences will be rewritten. If I have any questions or concerns, I'll query you in the comments.
Your edited work will be sent to you with a style sheet and cover letter. Once you've reviewed the edits, I'll do a second pass over your amended manuscript. A second pass is included with every copyediting service.
Proofreading
This service may be what you're looking for if you have already had a professional copyedit done for your manuscript. To book a proofreading service, you should already have a completed style sheet from your previous editor.
When proofreading, I look for typos, spelling errors, and formatting issues. You can request a free sample proofread (up to a thousand words) to make sure this is the right service for you.
